    hydroxycut question

Does this stuff work?? Anyone with some knowledge offer opinions/advice? I've been working out since Feb, 3-5 times per week. I've had great gains in muscle, strength, happy with the looks, BUT i just can't shed what i call extra 'beer' fat. im 6'3 215lbs. 35-36in waist. I tried cardio, about 20mins on the treadmill after my workout but i got sick of it after 2 weeks. I really can't stand it to be honest.

My diet for the most part is good during the week, consisting of oats, whey protein shakes, chicken/turkey.. wheat bread, protein bars some veggies.. etc.. vitamin/fish oil supplements twice daily w/cell-tech creatine post-workouts. little to no alcohol during the week.

I'm thinking the pills, along with my current routine, i should should start to cut up??

    am i right/wrong.. suggestions?

how many miles on the tread mill did you do and how often for 2 weeks?

I agree with C5, an hour is more sufficient.

20min, 2mi approx. im usually not up for cardio post workout.. i just want to get out the gym! 2hrs a day at the gym is a lot of time considering my daily schedule.

at what time is your last meal? what kind of training are you really doing?somewhere someting is off, you aren't burning more calories then you are taking in, if you eat what you say you are, those are quality calories and the fat SHOULD be coming off. Even with just 20 mins of cardio. I'm wondering if the weight training is intense enough. Try taking much shorter breaks between a set, going heavier and cutting the sets down. Try and take only 30 seconds rest between lets say a set of bench press and then go immediately into a set of dips. Both till failure. This should keep the heart rate up as you are lifting.

Hydroxycut imo is snake oil and a waste of money, fat burners rarely do what they say they do. People only feel they do

Ps. drink more water, its a diuretic and will flush your system out

If you're trying to lose weight, you're not doing enough cardio. You need to do 20 minutes before your body will even START to burn fat.

How much are you eating? From what you've posted, judging by your diet and routine, it seems like you're working out and eating to gain muscle and strength, not to lose fat. If you've been seeing good gains in strength you're probably eating too much to get your bodyfat down to where you want.

    good info here

i stay away from any and all energizering fat burning pills. Too many Cardiologist have found long term heart issues to be caused by such things as hydroxycut. yes Ephredra has been banned but the ingredients used still cause issues. Plus items like Hydroxycuts are considered Cosmetic so they do not need to be tested by the FDA.

if you are having a hard time burning fat try this:

    first diet-
-look at your diet, your diet is great but could use more natural fiber such as fruits and more vegetables.
-More fresh green veggies the better. Fresh greens increase the bodies metabolism while providing fiber that cleans out your insides.
-more darker fruits such as blueberries. Darker fruits are richer in antioxidents and kill free radicals in the body.
-cut back on the protien bars. Most protien bars are loaded with sugar. If you do not burn the sugar it turns to fat. Eat natural protien such as chicken, tuna. etc....
    -watch your dairy intake.
-limit the carb intake such as bread, bread and dairy slow down your metabolism.

    second working out-
-cardio such as treadmills, should be done every other day for 45mins max.
-on days you lift, switch to lighter weight and more reps
-mix up your routine so you body doesnt get used to the same routine
-combine your lifting excercises together using free weights, such as squats and curls.
-join an aerobics class, cardio kickboxing or spin classes are great.

When I saw how much protein shakes and bars being consumed.... Those things are loaded with carbs and fat to help build muscle. Low carb diet is needed to lose weight. Plus more cardio.

the bars yes, i've cut back to one a day, half mid morning, half mid afternoon as a snack while my ass sits at my desk. the whey shakes i'll take before/after the gym. i just have to face the fact that i need to do cardio. i hate!!!! cardio. Don't get me wrong.. i've definitely lost body fat, i was 230 in Feb, now 215-218.. just that stomach fat crap i cant lose.

I did take the advice today.. took 30-45sec rests between sets and heart rate was definitely higher than going through a normal routine. i've got to get adjusted to a quicker routine... hopefully add another exercise.. I think i'll go back to super-setting.. thing that sux is if its busy at the gym.. another guy will jump in while you're doing your other exercise. i do mix up my routine daily tho, working different areas each day. I drink a gal of water approx throughout the day.

If you are trying to build muscle, keep your high protein intake, you'll also need carbos for fuel to be able to push the heavy weight. Just make sure you have high quality sources of both. However forget about the scale. The best gauge of progress is a mirror.

Patience is a virtue with this hobby/addiction we call working out man. Just keep on keepin on. I found I hated the cardio IN the gym as much as you so I took up playing basketball again, and instead of a treadmill I run outside

Hydroxycut will turn you into an asshole an anxiety case with a short temper and little tolerance for anyone.

Stay off that shit. I started to feel like I wanted to beat the hell out of someone..and I didn't care. No, I am not on anything else..

    That stuff is BAD

I do have a very stressful job, so that may be part of it, but beware though.

Hydroxycut is a waist of money. i would type more about it, but I'm all typed out form ranting about the automakers bailout!!! But, I'm an athletic trainer, and have tried the stuff personally, and i know first hand. Maybe tomorrow i'll come back to it, sorry. i will say this

-there is now substitute for cardio.
-fat is burned in a carbohydrate furnace
    -increasing repetitions will help
-if you must take a pill ephedra works the best, BUT ITS TERRIBLE FOR YOU! there is a reason why the banned it!!! but if your in good health, taken responsibly and if you can find it, it will probably help you better than anything else.

it might take a little longer, but i would recommend the old fashion way. just remember supplements are exactly what they say they are, there supplementation for what you cant get in a normal diet.

Im taking it now. It works pretty well. I got the kind with caffine in it and the first day I took 6 it made me a little jittery but after that it was fine. My friend got the caffine free one and it didn't work sooo. I have been taking it for about a month now and I have lost close to 18 pounds. It gives me a lot more energy too;]
