    Hybrid Poison Ivy?

I have recently gotten poison ivy and physician said that there is a new strain of poison ivy that is faster to spread and more likely to put a person in the hospital?! Good lord tell me I wont have to go to a hospital bed because of this!!? I can usually shake this stuff within a month. I was told to apply 'apple vinegar' to the spots and areas around to kill the ivy. Anyone else heard of this?

I believe they're speaking of Cider Vinegar. No clue about that though, mythbusters did an episode on using vinegar to combat poison ivy if i remember correctly..and i dont think it worked. I'd get a new doctor

Seriously though I would try and get a second opinion. I've never heard of a new 'strain' of poison ivy, but im not going to tell you its not out there. This shit happens every now and again, keeps you on your toes in a way.

dunno... i'm immune to all types of poison ivy... i've never got it... my sister does and she puts white vinigar or apple on it... yes it does work... same thing as puting anti zit pads on them... drys out your skin so that the natural oils on your skin keep it from spreading...

you can have a reaction to it at anytime though. I've never had it either and have always just pulled it up with my hands when I see it around the house. I read this fact sheet a couple of years ago and was surprised to see that you can become allergic to it at anytime.

lol, we have allot of remedies here!

I believe I am like Spaz and can't get it to affect me.

Can't the doctors prescribe some steroid cream to help you recover?

Yeah I am trying several of the different methods. I have contained it to my arm. The Doc said that there was this new type out there, not that I had it. Thanks for all of the awesome replys!
