yeppers now they are talkin once it hits the deep "trench" in the gulf that it could hit like katrina did then curve around into east Texas and sit there regaining back to huricane status or it could hit houston or just east of houston and then the other one i saw should it hiting down near victoria Texas the thing is they dont know the only thing they do know is its goin to hit as one bad ass storm and the stage is set for that bitch hana to follow in right behind it

Hurricanes HA! I laugh at hurricanes! Or at least laughed at hurricanes untill one tore up all my shit!
If the NO gets hit again the gov't needs to declare the entire area a beach or destroy the leeves and make a new bay! Seems like a waste of time, money and life to keep rebuilding a city in such a vulnerable location especially after what we've seen!
I hear people all the time around florida say well it's better them than us! Which is somewhat true depending on what side of the ball your on!
Someone/area going to get slammed it's just a matter of who!
Good Luck to all in the path!

Yeah i dont like most of new orleans either. Where i live (slidell) i live above sea level.
i was here for katrina no prob. The only reason im evacuating is because of my SS and i do NOT feel like sitting in the sweltering heat for 2 or 3 weeks like after katrina. F THAT!
So i opted the early vacation route!

Eh, I might leave (Mobile), though it depends on where it's actually projected to make landfall. I'm not scared of the hurricane, I just hate being without power/internet/TV. So I'll probably just take the family and head to my parents house in NE Alabama.

I will never evacuate for ANYTHING smaller then a cat 4 eye hit, unless I'm in a flood zone. Which I'm never going to live in anyway. I've been way too many of these things to care about the winds unless its a real juggernaut. The most dangerous shit is the water, and honestly you should already know if you need to GTFO because of that.

If you even consider staying, especially if you are in a vulnerable area to begin with, you are a fool! Didn't anyone learn anything from Katrina?? Then, when the S*IT hits the fan and you realize you're in trouble, you expect firefighters, police, coast guard, or national guard to come save your stupid A*S?? What a joke!! Get out now!!

My brother lives in NO, he is evacuating all the way to..............................the north side of Lake Ponchatrain! I told him he is foolish to take his wife and 4 kids and camp there in his 30 foot RV. I sure as hell would be up in northern LA at the least.

Last I read, the flood line from a Cat-5 going direct over Houston would only go as far North as 290 and 610. I'm well enough NW of there that the only thing I'd have to worry about are the unevacuated coming my way looking for food and shelter. I've got enough stores of crap to last a while w/o formal utilty services
