Hummer v. who the hell buys these pieces of crap

ok let me first start off by saying that the hummer brand began and ended with the H1. such an awesome vehicle, the original, and a true hummer/ humvee. i'd love to have an h1 alpha with the duramax

all that aside- who the fuck in their right mind buy these retarded h2s and h3s that gm tries to pass off as hummers, which are really just glorified suburbans and traiblazers with bigger tires, ugly bodies, and mediocre to lame offroad ability-even when equipped with their offroad stuff.

i have driven all three variants, including an h1, although it wasnt an alpha with dmax. the h1 was huge and sometimes difficult to drive on some of the narrower public roads, although i didnt have much time in one. still the original and badass though, since it can actually wheel wherever it can fit lol.

the h2 is rediculously retarded. lets make the suburban even taller and bigger, uglier, and then sell it to rappers and soccer moms who hit everything in their path anyway. what does this vehicle do well again? oh yeah, nothing.

and then theres the poor h3. gm went completely off the reservation with this thing. having driven one on the road, it had poor road manners, was loud, handled like shit, was underpowered even with the v8 (probably the big ass tires), and we wont talk about people on the sidewalks randomly throwing up when seeing it drive by. and then there's the offroad. a member of our four wheeling group recently picked one up. he's a good driver and knows how to four wheel some badass trails with his other rig. he showed up for a day of wheeling with his new (used) h3. he said it was loaded and had all the off road options and the v8, etc, but i never looked at it close so dont know what all that includes. holy shit that thing couldnt 4 wheel its way through a starbucks drive through. there were guys with stock height full size trucks walking away from it up what should be a fairly mild trail. it was nowhere in the same league as a jeep rubicon. there was even a guy in a barely lifted suzuki samurai that did better. and yes, the tires on the thing were in decent shape, and were an a/t tire, so it wasnt that. rotfl.

who wouldnt want to roll in dis piece a' awesome:

I take it you've never actually owned one huh?

First off I don't know where you get your info, but less than 10% of ANY H3 ever built is anything other than a HUMMER design..

Had my H3 in and out the woods where lifted silvy's would'nt go to rescue another silvy driver..

Oh and the name "HUMVEE" is a nick name for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV)...

A trail blazer really has nothing in common with the H3 as well. Their resale @ ANY trim level compared to H3 reflects that..

You would not dare take a TB where you'd easily take an H3..

If you've never owned one then "crap" is not a word I'd throw around too much..

Never confuse driver error with a vehicles actual abilites..

    ..but seriously

Now,, I'll admit they're not for everyone, but we (wife and I) likey dem..

I can't comment on the Rubi, or the H1 and their abilities as I've never owned either of them.

I can still navigate 2ft of water, and traverse a 40% side slope, climb a 16in curb, and climb 60% slope.

The H1 from AM General from what I've seen is nothing short of amazing.

You're NOT filling those shoes easily with ANY pavement pounder..

But also remember the H2 and H3 are also NOT millitary issued combat vehicles.

It has also been noted by owners of all 3 that the H3 is just as and in some ways better off roading than the H2 and yes even the H1 in some ways..

Check Hummer forums and you'll see.

Nope the Hummer line is'nt the greatest truck on earth but it's also not what people unfamilier with them would have you believe either..

I researched the crap out of them before getting my H3, and still found I knew nothing about it after I purchased it.

I am sorry, and I am not trying to be an ass here,, but being a new owner and just riding in one does'nt count.

    I have a question Smitty....

This H3 clearly doesn't have lockers as I see seperate tires spinning while others sit still. I thought these hummers had lockers???

I'm not an experienced off roader either, but I've had my lockers get me out of places I shouldn't have been in. What that guy experienced above wasn't much and should have been a cake walk for front and rear lockers.
