Part of DC is "hood" so they are making a joke out of it lol If you get the job or hell part of your interview is probably gonna discuss housing I would think. Depending on what the job you are going for is, some companies pay for relocation costs which would lead me to believe the discussion of housing location is gonna come up. I would think they are gonna put new employees right in the middle of skid row.

O HELL NO! Granted I am a born and breed New Yorker but DC can't touch NY in anyway...but they do got the better "hood's" if you take the A,L,j,1,2,4,5 lines u would clearly see DC metro blow's like a $3 crack head which mind you are plentiful in said DC metro area...NY is more of a "tug and rub" kind of town...

Virginia is nice and the southern parts of Maryland are as well. But areas around or in the D.C. metropolitan area however are terrible. People are bitches, it's extremely congested everywhere you go, it's expensive and crowded in the city and it's overall a shitty place. You will not find any car guys or clubs or anything of that nature around here unless either you go to MIR or Capitol Raceway and meet people, I can tell you that now. Night life, partying etc., it's very good around here in the city though with all these new hippie type people moving in out here. All kinds of huge parties and events are always taking place downtown.
Also, the "hood" is almost non-existent here in D.C., in the past few years there have been a ton of people coming from all over buying up the rundown property, renovating it and turning them into really nice areas. All the people that lived in the extremely low income areas have been pushed out to the low income areas in PG County Maryland (about 15 min. away from D.C.), which is really just a complete shithole all together. There are still a few pockets of ghettos out here in D.C. but not many are left at all.Last edited by Transamws6; 04-25-2011 at 03:17 PM.

I'm a neutral party, as far as I'm concerned both places could drift out to sea and sink. I'm just saying DC sucks a lot less than NY

Also, just to add, a lot of people that live here now aren't really truly from this city. A lot of young college educated people and hipsters have infiltrated this city and are flipping everything around. Which is both good and bad.
