We have a thread up in the Tools section of the forum. I have several of their tools and have not had a problem. Most recent purchase was a remote camera scope that seems to work very well.

good enough for the average hobbyist to justify buying them under the premise that if it fails you can just throw it in the garbage and get a new one. It gives you the opportunities to own tools you wouldnt otherwise own because they were more money then you wanna spend. But some of these items are like 10 bucks, so dont expect great quality. Dont waste your money on their screwdrivers, they strip everything out.

I dont doubt they hold your car up, my point is, i'm still not gonna get under a car supported by them. I value my life more then that. I really dont like getting under cars on the ground period, no matter what brand jack stands. you are braver then i am.

Yeah, thier impact sockets are garbage. I tried a set and promptly broke them all as I used them.

I bought bearing puller kit from them when doing rear wheel bearings on my Jeep, it was only 20 bucks and worked exactly as I needed it to. Also bought a 1/2" drive 22" long breaker bar for 12 bucks that works great too.

And anything you need to really only use once is fine to buy from HF IMO.

As far as ratchets and sockets, I'll stick with Craftsman. But for certain handtools, or things I know I'll be pounding on or only using once, HF is the way to go.

Some of their cheap stuff is fine for certain tools. For any tool that takes alot of stress, torque, etc, no way. I too have broken some of their impact sockets. For any kind of sockets, ratchets, wrenches, air tools, etc get the good stuff.

There's a reason why when you walk through an automotive shop, the career mechanics all have snap on, matco, cornwell, and mac tools. And in a pinch some craftsmen maybe

I just used their ball/universal joint 3 in 1 tool to replace the upper and lower ball joints on one side of my Dodge truck. The "C" type clamp is heavy and thick, but I managed to bend it. The good news is, I got the ball joints in (and to be fair, they were a bit tight), and b/c I had purchased the tool within thirty days, they replaced them with a no-hassle guarantee. On top of that, they were on sale when I returned the bad set and I got a $10 refund.

Can't really complain too much. I still don't see how I was able to bend that clamp though. Maybe a bad batch of castings?

I've got a bunch of their impact sockets that I keep in the toolbox of my truck with the cordless impact and havent had any trouble with them, but my Menard's tool shop impact prolly doesn't have the strength to break one.

No they're just cheap tools, made with cheap steel from China. It's what happens when you use subpar materials.

The only lolz is your not really knowing what goes on at a dealership. 310stanger gave a pretty good idea of how it works. I have a buddy at ~35/hour flat rate, and he's about as high as he can go, has every certification you can get through ASE and GM, etc.

Dont ever add a bar extension to any of there socket wrenches. I broke 2 3/8s and 1 1/2.
