How many people think your car is worth 40K +??

The other day at work my buddy is trying to convince me to buy a snowmachine since winter has arrived in Alaska and I say I cant because Im broke. He says "but you just bought a $40,000 car you have to have some money". Im like uhh yeah thats why Im broke.

Then Im thinking 40k....wtf? Does my car really look that good?

A guy in the Hooters parking lot thought my car was worth over 50k!!?? Man would I have loved to make him a deal!

Anyone else get this from people too?

Ok Im talking about people whose cars are worth nowhere near 40-50k! I paid 15k for mine but I feel like a million bucks when Im in it!

Sure....I've been offered well over $50K for Oprah's black ass. Lot of old guys don't want to build and tweak/tune/scream/holler/cuss...they just want to write a check and have the finished product and go kill some Z06's and Vipers while they sit in leather with the 6 CD changer and surround sound blasting while cold air is blowing on em

At car shows I have seen a guy get $50K on the spot for basically a stock C5 that was chromed up and polished. The value of anything is what somebody is willing to pay.

I've been to that Hooters many times. Looking at those ugly chicks for awhile will make you think a wrecked civic looks like a 50k car.

my z28 did cost me 30K with finance interest, but I bought it brand new.

a lot of these people that think our cars are either brand new like 2006-2008 models or cost 50K are the same people that ask:

Is it as fast as a vette? or you have to tell them your car as a vette engine in it because they are dumbfounded with the words LS1.

Also many people dont remember the cost of nice cars 5-7 years ago. A nice car now does cost 30-50k where as back then you could get a nice car for 15k-20K. Fuck my dad bought a 1988 camaro z28 for 12k brand new...

Hahaha yeah you're right. I never even thought about that! Alaska by far has the WORST Hooters in the world.

Most people up here are into the AWD scene since they have to drive on snow and ice half the year. I see WRX's and EVOs all day long. Maybe thats why.

my mom told me this story, one day i was out and about and my car was at home in the garage. My mom was getting a door delivered (we just moved into a new house and it still needed a few things).

So the delivery guy is bringing the door in through the garage and he has to walk by my car and he goes " I guess I better be careful not to hit this $50,000 car".

My mom just gave him a look like wtf? I told her she should have tried to sell it to him

we avg over 100 inches a yr of snow here ..dam lake effect..she sits in the winter
