how many musicians are here
hey guys just wondering how many of us ls1.com members were musicians and what kind of gear you play. my main guitar is a prs custom 22. peavey renown 2x12 combo B.C. rich virgin, and a cheap pawn shop flying v

I've been a guitarrist since about the 9th grade... haven't played in about 3 years though (the EXg/f took care of that)...
My gear is: Ibanez 7 String, LTD/ESP Viper(cheap model), Ibanez Starter kit Guitar(my first Electric), and a Prince Spanish/Acoustic. All that, a Laney 12inch AMP, Wireless System, and a crapy P.A.

its been about 3 years since i was in a band myself, trying to get a little something goin here but everyone wants to just do cover tunes

oh yeah...that sucks bad...all my friends wanted to do was play Metallica Covers...Slayer...and such... when it came right down to creating new Music...the place got real quiet and no one knew what to play...

i know what you mean. i have played sand man and seek and destroy so many times i think i could play them left handed and blind folded. the last band i was in was called wigglestik and we got pretty popular around this area. a local radio station picked us up as there official party band. but they were all about 10 years older than me and were content playing these small bars and getting drunk, so that didn't last very long for me.

well at least you had some popularity... my bad was a highschool band...we where about to start doing the playing at bars thing... but then everyone either moved away for College... or decided to become DJ's instead...

sad reality is a good dj can make more money on a local level than a good band can no one appreciates live music on a local level any more

lol thats why i just improvise something in the same key just make sure any of the slower drawn out parts are played note for note
