push ups is where it is man. I stopped benching and stuck to just push ups and situps. My workout consisted of 6 sets of 50 push-ups, sometimes 8 if i did not do pull ups, wide...narrow...and incline type with my feet off of the ground and then i would do 3 pyramids of 12 for pull ups.

After a few months i came back to the bench, threw on 225 and as i got to 6 reps i stopped and just started stacking on the weights, to see where i got to, 265! I probably could have done more if i would not have just dumped the weight on instead of building up. I also threw a few hundred sit-ups. I feel so much more beastly when i do calisthenics work outs only. I even wrestled my roomate who was bigger and benched more than me, and i owned his ass. I was weighing around 156ish, maybe 160 and he weighed 190 and benched over 300. Push ups rule!!!!!!!!!!! Plus for me it works my core out better.

Pushups are better for you, works more muscles. Weights can get some muscles stronger than others and get you hurt if you don't switch it up enough at the gym.

thats why i went to pushups, i pulled something, so i gave weights a rest, came back more of a beast then when i was lifting
