How fast are the 2006 shelby gt500's ?

met a guy at a car show that has one .....I am sure we will race soon lol.....by the way his car is stock

mid to low 12s depending on the following..... convertible non convertible, traction, altitude, driving ability. You can see as bad as high 12s with these into play. But this car is pretty fast. Light mods and they are real monsters. Definitely heavy though. Evolution performance hit 9s with the stock blower and bolt ons with theirs. Give him a go, if he can drive he should probably take you if he doesnt smoke the tires. Should be fun though, let us know how you fare.

he has a body kit on it...very nice lookin car...i took some pics of it i will post some here...hardtop m6

the shelby's are fairly heavy but they also have the benefit of a supercharger. if your car is stock rrgray, he'll get ya if he can drive decently. with drag radials they will should do low low 12s easy. with pulley swap...11s.

they are fast for what they are, but my guess is if you had 450 hp/tq with a good suspension you would keep up with a stock one. just a matter of putting your power to the ground to exploit there weight problem.

i know it doesnt have a supercharger...some guy came up to him and asked him if it was the real gt500 .....i didnt catch all of it but he said no.....he had it dynoed said it went 310rw.....i am going to ask him tomorrow the details

that incredibly bad if he has any mods. they get like 275 or 280 at the wheels bone stock trans dependent.

I have a friend of mine use the same dyno it suppose to be only 1 of 3 in the usa. (I doubt that) it puts out much lower numbers...inputs stuff like wind resistance into it etc.......i dont know all that dyno stuff is greek to me

The point was smart ass that if he has one mod he could have more. Since his exhaust is modded he could have headers...X-pipe...etc. He obviously has the money to buy the GT and do some appearance mods...probably has money to make her run too. With a hood like that i'd hope he's no where near the stock he claims to be.

what i was getting at is that he has a show car with side exhaust. good for him. maybe there is something lurking under that cowl but experience tells me never to completely believe gt owners when they speak...whole lot of..ahem..exaggeration.

oh yeah....im not seeing too many 06-07 gts keeping up with my 7 year old f body so i guess im qualified to make the statement: theyre slow.
