Got a Potential insane deal coming up wanted to know how many miles do they usually last? Any other issues?

I had one in my 02 1500HD....had something in the neighborhood of 96,000 miles when I traded it in. Ran strong w/ no problems.....except the annoying piston slap when it got below about 50 degrees.....lasted for about 50 yards and went away.
