How do I fix my lawn?

Well I just started renting this place. The lawn is shit as you can see. I want to take care of it but not dump any money into. Obviously i'll need some weed and dandelion killer. What can I do to bring the grass back and not have 4 different kinds of grass. Burning it seems like a good option. LOL

I know nothing about lawn care, this is my first place.

Scott's weed and feed. It will make it look very very green. You will have to cut more often.

you need to airate the lawn, rip up the dead shit and seed it with some new soil, and re seed the whole lawn, then a lot of watering is going to be in order, fertilzer will be needed as well, followed by more watering, and watering

If your looking to save this might be cheaper
    1. Herbicide lawn killer and kill the lawn, wait for a week or until lawn is completley dead.
    2. rototill old lawn, new soil, don't hit sprinklers etc.
    3. Spread new seeds on top of old lawn, and let germinate.
    4. You should have a new even lawn.

If you go this route you can't use preemergent, kind of fucks you over

Scotts Weed and Feed is the absolutely the way to go. The first picture is my backyard when I moved into my house last year. The second picture is at the end of summer after 2 treatments of Scotts Weed and Feed. I watered it regularly and mowed it about 2 weeks. I think you will see the significant improvement though.
