Those damn things are scary. I saw this news program where a woman was attacked and a man came to her rescue. He said he was beating on the cat and trying to get him off. He said could feel the cat's heartbeat and it was as calm as ever. The thing was just focused on the job at hand.

A fightin chance, yes. However, them things aint like a dog that bites anywhere. They go for your neck. Backside of the neck preferrably. They do fear man more than women and children tho. Mountain lions are excellent at sizing up their prey. Still, if they are trapped, LOOKOUT.

correct... they are very intellegent... they watch for a while and see if you ahve a certain movement patern adn they try to utilize that...

as for trying to fight them bare hands... you will more than liekly die... they are pointy and sharp 5 out of 6 ends of thier body... think of a hosuehold cat wraping its from legs around you and then kicking you with its hind legs and claws... it will disembowle you fast...

cats are damn near the perfect predator...
