I didn't watch the whole thing but found it interesting that the sauce was made with French instead of Thousand Island. I'll try that.

And, I agree about flattening the burgers. No other way to do it. Although, you could just buy the 1/4 lb frozen burgers already shaped.

big macs are nasty...and that didn't make them look any tastier.

seen the dude make twinkies before as well. easer to buy them pre-made. don't know if it would cost less to make them myself...but it's less of a headache.

Time consuming? Yes...but healthier as you know exactly what is going in it (and can add other things if you want) so I think its a plus. I do this a lot with "re-inventing" common foods. Good link man

Ha ha... that is why I didn't watch the whole thing.

And, that is also why I don't eat Fast Food. I like to make things at home so I can use better and leaner ingredients

He did good. They use different seasoning tho on the meat.

Mcdonalds is funny.. they have VERY specific ways of making burgers. Like exactly how much ketchup and mustard you use and you have to put the mustard first cause if it makes a different taste. and you can only put 2 pickels on sandwiches with 2 patties and with 1 pattie you can only put one.

I don't use French dressing when I make Thousand Island dressing. This is what I use.

    THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING

    1/2 c. mayonnaise
    2 tbsp. chili sauce
    2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
    1 chopped hard boiled egg
    Salt and pepper
    12 stuffed olives
    1 sm. sweet pickles, chopped
    2 sm. green onions

I figured McDonalds would just add ketchup to the mayo for some reason. But, never would have thought French Dressing.

I'm talking in the basic sense ... 1000 Island = Ketchup, Relish, Mayo ... French = Ketchup, Oil, Sugar

Everything has it variations ... heck I use a spread sheet to track all my BBQ rubs

Yep, I rarely ever measure stuff out anymore. Just use the basics to taste. But, I will now try it with French dressing instead of the Ketchup or Chili sauce.

made a big mac today and it tasted just like the ones from mcdonalds. I also bought mcdonalds fries at the store and put them in the deep fryer. Only thing different was my number 1 came with a beer.
