How bad is work screwing me. Don't think its legal

Work is kinda fuckin with me and it ticks me off. Not really too pissed due to at least having a job and my car getting finished soon but nontheless its irritating. So today is Sunday, day of rest for some and so forth. Well today I am scheduled for a 15 hour shift, payed for 14 hrs. How you ask? Well they have me working 5pm - 10pm then move sites to work 11pm - 8am. This is all with no overtime due to not having 40 hours in and WI's laws. Much better then the 18 hour days I did in the military but those days have come and gone. I wouldn't mind the hours if I at least got paid for the full time I am at work. To drive in between my two sites is HONESTLY 8 mins of travel. So I have to sit around at work at wack off for at least 50 mins not paid. Kinda Bullshit in my book!

I see where everyone is coming from. Like I stated, I am happy just to be working I still have to drive my own vehicle 8 minutes across town unpaid while still on duty. And I still have to be at my site to relieve the other person, but won't be paid for it til 11 pm. Granted I can just sit in the office, I am still at work.

Surf the internet, eat food, beat off, take a shit, read the paper, watch TV, do something to relax in that hour. You aren't being paid for it so you aren't expected to be productive.

Now, if they start asking you to be productive during that hour, thats an issue you need to address with your supervisor/HR.

Which means you are not required to be there until 11:00. That is the way I am reading it. If that is the case, no wrong is happening. That is a one hour break that way I see it. If they are requiring you to leave site A and report to site B immediately to relieve someone immediately, then you should be paid. The labor board would be on your side if they require you to work before your scheduled time without being paid for it.

As already said, just dont do any work for that hour. I also totally agree with the way things are, rejoice in the fact that you have a job that will give you a 14 hour day. It might feel like it sucks but thats gonna be a nice check man. Anytime people bitch about their jobs I try and remind them they have one.
