    Home Theater Help!

    Ok heres what I got.

    New Toshiba 40" Flat Screen
    Directv
    Dynex DVD/5.1 Speaker system

Heres my problem. The only sound input on the Dynex is analog Right and Left (Red/white).

When I connect that directly to my Directv reciever 5.1 works great.

When I connect it right to the TV my rear speakers don't work.

Whats going on? I have changed every setting I can think of on the TV in sound settings with out much luck.

I would like to have my PS3 play sound through the surround as well. Know?

if you have your sound system connected via tv directly to sounds system then it will only broadcast in 2.0

If you only have red/white inputs. You will only get stereo.
    No fiber or coxial inputs??

    Nope.

But how come it works perfect when connected to the Directv reciever the same way?

the directv reciever has the capabilities of broadcasting in 5.1 while tvs dont come with that capabilities and can only broadcast in stereo. Even if you had optical hooked directly to the tv it would never broadcast in true 5.1 dobly digital. The sound needs to be originating from the receiver and not the tv to get the correct sound.

If you count finding it on 4chan or the funny picture thread, maybe a couple minutes?

Has anyone heard of the audio company called Goldman? Apparentley its the most expensive and loudest in the world. Just watching a youtube video on it, their most basic set up is 300k and then goes up into the millions. They have to pour 2 tons on concrete into your walls to support the noise!!! Now THAT is a home theater
