Guy at work has a 98 ford contour svt with muffler and cold air intake and everyone is saying he will smoke my car.
ive seen it.. its SLOW

Im laying down 200 bucks on this race..

Where I used to work at a guy thought he could take my wifes GTP with his CRX because he beat his brothers 94 Grand Prix GT. Put like 5 bus lengths on him by 100. I thought he would have known better being a tech.

Bullshit I wouldn't worry about the money I would make sure he does something really degrading for you like wash your car while wearing a dress. Or even better yet print out a custom t-shirt that says "be nice to me today I just came out of the closet"

They're not blazing fast, but decently quick. Overall, you should beat him hands down. Just don't get too confident and blow the launch or anything equally stupid. If he wants to go from a roll, he's got something more than a CAI under the hood.

I had a black '99 SVT Contour. Really nice car. Handled and drove like an absolute dream. Best handling FWD car I've ever driven. Only mods I put into it where a Borla catback, a CAI, and a couple other odds and ends. It would scoot along pretty good, especially 60 mph plus.

Gave me nearly 90K trouble free miles. Not one trip to the dealer for anything but an oil change.

Impossible. Contours and Mistakes er Mystique were some of the biggest piles of recalled TAP shit ever built

my dad bought an svt contour back in 98, he still has it but just uses it for a winter beater.... i always liked it though - it was comfortable to ride in and decently fast. But as for it smoking a T/A... i think not
