Home improvement, laying wood floor results...

Man, for all those who say it's easy, just cut and measure...riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. Fine if you live in a square box, but here's the result.

Also, wanted my projection TV off the floor, didn't wanna buy a plasma, so we built a shelf over the fireplace.

Now to get rid of those pain in the ass blinds covering your backdoor. Those things are the loudest, peices of shit i have ever seen. Just wait till the clips start breaking on them and the blinds come crashing down.

I agree, I want to do something else, but not sure what. For now they provide needed privacy as the french doors face another condo. Wouldn't do to be having naked time and the neighbors having a peep show!

What do you all think of the TV up on the shelf? I didn't run the wood all the way up to the fireplace as I'm laying ceramic tile there, for a hearth.

If you do not use the fireplace cool but i would think it would be bad for the TV.

I think that both the floor and the shelf look good...........Now, just get the tile in there and you will be all set

You could make and install a heat diverter which is insulated and then it would have no affect on it.

Yeah Bigrus, I recall seeing that warning with the plasma's too, so I imagine the same goes for the projection TV. Fortunately, we don't run it too much.

Liquifire, that's a good idea about the heat insulater. We don't use it a whole lot, and when winter comes around again, I will see just how hot it gets under there. If it gets to hot, your idea will come in handy. That or I can go rip off the heat shield from the Z...lol. J/K.
