I thought the same but I recently had lasik done 6 months ago and absolutely love it!
No contacts or glasses, no screwing with my eyes and cleaning them through out the day due to contacts. No falling off your face, worrying about scratched lenses, etc...
Only problem is that my night vision still needs to heal/get better because of the halo rings around bright lights but thats about normal for anyone.
Once they had my eye cut and opened the clear flap and started the laser treatment the laser looked like a bad ass purple lightning storm. But when you look at the laser else wise it looks and is red?!?!Last edited by OreoLt1; 01-14-2009 at 06:28 PM.

yeah it was a pretty bizarre process. i used to be at 20/400 AKA blind as a bat. had the process 4 months ago to this day and i'm seeing better than 20/20 and it just gets better all the time. best thing is it was free. gotta love the military!!

I did not really know how the whole process worked until now, and wow it is pretty crazy.
I was going to get it for my wife next year but she wants a boob job instead LOL.
What is the average price to have it done for the non military folks?
Is the night vision get better with time and is the Halo just annoying or does it make driving at night difficult?

I could never do that eye stuff, the doctor my g/f works for does that kind of stuff and he banks in about 80,000 every month or two, it definatly takes a special breed, and about the laser eye treatment, it usually works for everyone but there is a certain % of people that go blind from it right after the treatment, dont think i'd want to risk it

Black- 2000 TA
I had it done and love it. Cost was 4 grand, I had the custom lasiks. The doctor put some drops in my eye, 5 seconds later you can't feel anything. Lay down on table, couple more drops, now you can't see anything except a purple light. All you feel is pressure and 2 minutes later you are done. I went from 20/300 to 20/10.
