I have an SCX10 Honcho (kit version). It's been a great little truck. Picked it up when they were first released. It's barely used. I have the Axial NVS (light kit) for it as well. 55t lathe motor. Been a fun little truck, almost wish I had a 27t or 35t motor though for a bit more wheelspeed. 19t is too much. I've seen people throw a brushless setup in them just for wheelies and whatnot though. I've gotten into the short-course trucks now and race them.

shitty pic with all the lights lit up.

It's an actual racetrack. I don't run the Axial there, just my Slash 4x4's.

Yessir. Some of these have enough power to pull wheelies at speed.

RC cars where great back in the day when you had to build them and paint them...

now most are R2R (ready to run)

90% of the fun was building and customizing them

I agree with ya. The fun is in the building and customizing. The truck i showed i bought in kit form. That's the beauty now of the scale/crawling aspect. The manufacturers have caught on, but the mass appeal is that most everything is custom built, whether you're piecing together store-bought parts, or scratch-building the entire thing. Check out rc4wd.com for some crazy shit. They are making scaled down full-size solid axles. Transfer cases, 2 speed trannys etc. Internal beadlock wheels with licensed scaled tires. It's nuts.

But yes, building is the best part.

Nothing fancy. Both of my slashes side by side with my SCX10. And a few pics of a Ford Raptor body I painted on my SCX. It's actually a body for the Slash (not wide enough o cover the wheels, meant to turn the slash into a monster truck), but it fits the SCX perfect, and looks pretty good to boot.

I have a Losi desert truck and an e-maxx. I like them. e-maxx is rad.
Not big fan of rockcrawling. I have a buddy that loves it though.

I have an MGT r2r. Got it when they first came out. stupid fast! I always wanted to build one from scratch using nothing but hop up parts. it gets expensive fast. An all high end part MGT could run thousands. I think someone was selling fully hopped up metal MGT's for like 10k back when they were new.

i'd still love to do it one day. it is crazy how "full scale" they seem. Lot's of fun. I still have my MGT... but it's a bit rusty and in a million pieces. lubed it up before i boxed it... it'd probably run if i ever put it back together. maybe i'll put it together in time for spazpalooza....

second thought i suddenly see it hydrolocking as it lands in the pool with spaz at the wheel.
