Def not the way to see these movies, I own all three lord of the rings and the in theater experience was much better than at home on my HDTV. If it its at the Imax I might drive out there to see it.

I could be wrong, but I think that's his way of saying he's not into these types of movies.

Here's my IMHO, film looks like it might be decent. Jackson doesn't give two shits towards Tolkien's actual intentions or writings. The dwarves look like shit. Read the book (which I have Many times). "The Hobbit" was originally intended as a children's book. Today's film makers don't give a shit about that. They're NOT in the slightest bit interested in the REAL Tolkien. It will probably be a good action film as it was intended by Hollywood but it won't be anything near what J.R.R. Tolkien intended. I just hope he keeps his slimy ass hands off of "The Silmarillion".

If this movie does well, which it probably will with LOTR film fans, you can bet the will attempt to make something out of "The Silmarillion"

A big part of why the LOTR movies did well was because of all the fans of the books. They still have a huge following.

I read those books in Jr High and they've always been some of my favorites. I just wish they would have done the Hobbit first I still have the set somewhere in the garage.

I won't lie, I haven't read any of them. I won't argue either that I do bet the books are much much better then what HollyCrap is spewing out.
