Hemmings sucks

There is an article in this months Hemmings Motor News about the LS engines. They refer to them as antique technology.
Sounds like something I might have said...before I reached the age of reason. Back when I though cammers were something new and advanced. Before I discovered that they'd been around the block a few times. Before I ever worked on one of the miserable things. Before I got an LS1.
I've owned a lot of hot cars and driven even more but the LS is the most incredible engine ever. I agree with the car mags calling it the most advanced engine available today.

Well, the cam in block, pushrod design IS antique technology. (Or you could say PROVEN technology)

The original small block that came out in '55 had the same technology.

I think that's what they mean, not the LS engines themselves. That they make so much power using such old design ideas is a great testament to the engineering that GM put into these things.

What that means to me is that just because a technology is newer, doesn't necessarily make it better. (DOHC, V-TEC, etc)
