help...xbox 360 headset question

so my fiance got pissed at me last nite. something about me being up until 5am online playing battlefield with her brother at "obscene volumes" when she had to work this morning.

so...i need a headset...and this is her suggestion. i need to find one that i can get the sound from the game to come exclusively through the headset like headphones...no volume out of the tv at all. this way i can play late at nite and she can get some sleep and there's per-marital bliss in the apartment.

question being...can anyone recommend some of these headsets. i've been looking but can't seem to find any.

I will recommend turtle beach headsets but im not for sure about no sound from tv speakers. I have never had it hooked up like that. But turtle beach headsets are by far the best i have ever used.

Turtle Beach are awesome headsets.


A bit pricey but worth it. I got a TB 11 for my son's xbox and what a difference. Like Chris said you don't have to plug the cable into the tv with these headsets. best part is that they are not only for xbox, PS3's but you can take them to the computer and use them there too.

I love my turtles. I have dx11's and the wireless ?81's? Before that. Got too many aparently complaints of shooting noises at 2am.

You can play all the volume exclusively through the headsets. Wireless eats through batteries is why I switched.

I've had a few awkward moments when I had friends come over and my roommate and I were playing rock band (both using turtles) and having a blast. But the guests could only hear the drums getting hit as the guitar clicking lol.

stopped and chatted last nite with a friend who works at gamestop and he said the same thing...turtle beach x41. apparently my fiance's sleep is worth $160 so i've got the green light.
