First off, do you have a G: drive?

You can always try to map a G: drive to a folder and see if that'll work.

1. Create a folder on your C: drive in windows explorer and name it something that would relate to the game name.
2. right click on My Computer and click Map Drive.
3. Pick G: from the drive letter list.
4. Browse to the folder you created.
5. Click finish.
Go and try to run the install again. It might work.

go to "My Computer", then Tools from the drop menu, then Map Network drive.. try to map a network folder or a flash memory card etc as G: drive.
see if it writes anything on that g: mapped drive.
also, another thing, if the contents on the CD is not that much like 200-300megs, copy all that to a c:temp folder and run it from c drive and see if it still asks for g: drive?
