Help: Need motorcycle parts resources
I just scored a cheap bike. that needs some parts. ive searched ebay high and low, and have searched some forums specific for the bike but have no luck. im curious if any of you bike guys have parts resources or can point me in the direction to find some of the major parts i need. i just got a 03 yamaha fz1 i need forks, and a radiator for it, as i can find everything else for it, but these 2 parts. i found a radiator on ebay but they want 250 for it, when new their 350 so thats not cool to me.....but im rambling. if you can help me out great i appreciate it. thanks in advance

Check www.mrcycles.com . If I'm looking at the right bike a brand new radiator is $252 on there. I've used that site alot. It's all OEM parts.

Also, look in to some other forks. You dont HAVE to use the stocker style. I am sure you could poke some R1 forks in to that baby. Often times you can get a fork assembly and a wheel with brakes and everything pretty reasonably cheap.

i looked into the r1 forks...you have to machine the triple trees and swap steering stems out. and then id need the r1 forks, triple trees, front brakes, front rotors, new axle, and new front rim all from the r12 to swap. thats more than i can handle on my own, and dont know of machining shops around me

I forget that are not the inverted forks. Not sure what year they changed. Probably when they put the actual R1 engine in them....well "slightly" different.

Cartridge style most likely will fit. However, how long they are may pose a problem.
I would fighter that big ole yammi.
