Help me put this eTard in his place

Hey guys and gals. I have a request to make of you. Over on an SRT-4 forum, we're having the always exciting, if not overly done, discussion about the A855 (SRT-4 engine) vs. LS1. In the course of this discussion, some MORON wants people to believe that an LS1 (a 2002 z28 at that) will run, on average, a 13.8-14.1. Naturally, the educated among us over there (not too many, sadly) laughed in his face and tried to set the record straight. Hell, we even posted an article from a MUSTANG magazine where they ran a 12.8 STOCK in a z28...and managed another 12.9 and a 13.039...again, STOCK. Even after posting this article, this chump continues to quote 'Car and Driver' saying they only managed a 14.1 or something. I'm currently looking for this, because the driver would have had to been sleeping to run a 14.1. In the meantime, I was wondering if any of you actual LS1 owners wouldn't mind helping me out with links/posts to timeslips, videos, articles and so forth so I can finally shut people up once and for all.

I know you probably couldn't care less, but I figured I'd ask anyway. It'd just make my research a little easier. I, personally, know the truth/facts...it's just a pain in the butt to dig them up sometimes.

    Anywho..much love and all that.

you speak of evan smith... he took a bone stock Z28 6 speed (paper air fileter and all) on street tires and ran a 12.8 1/4 mile... evan smith is also one of the worlds greatest 6 speed driver...

us mortals usually run 13.1 - 13.7 depending on the track... one of our members (transamprincess98) has run a 12.9...

There are plenty of stock LS1 cars that have ran 14.1's.
Just like plenty of stock SRT-4's don't run the top speed.

Most LS1 cars average 13.3-13.6 stock. Mostly on the driver.

Which is the point I was trying to make to him. An average driver can pull low 13's. This guy is adamant that they're only capable of a 13.8 at best, despite the proof.

I realize the guy that pulled the 12.8 is a DAMN good (and professional) driver...and I also realize an inexperienced driver, or a run at a bad track might yield a 13.8-14.1, but in general...the point is, a stock LS1 > stock SRT-4.

14.1's all day long? Sure, I'll go along with that..............if you're racing at the track Mr. Luos usually does.

My '98 AT Trans Am with 2.73 rear gears ran from 14.1@99.5-13.65 @102.95, stock. Maybe this is what they are referring to. (OOPs, I put a lid on it to get over 102 MPH) My '00 WS6 ran 13.4-13.6, 104.5-105.8, stock. With a lid, Hooker LTs, ORY, best has been a 12.89 @ 109.95, and gas MPG went over 28 MPG @ 75-80 MPH! Street tires, best 60 ft. of 1.98
