    HD Big Screen input please

Ok i have a 50" Samsung DLP I love it, the picture is awesome, I have had to have it repaired 2 times now and Circuit City is just goning to replace it now.I think i am going to stay away from DLP and look into a Plasma, or LCD.I have a PS3 and was wanting to know if the screen will get burn with either the Plasma, LCD.Also what is the best over all TV it has to be from Circiut City. Here are the ones I look at.
    1) Hitachi 50" Plasma HDTV (P50H401)

    •1080i (1280 x 1080) resolution
    •NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners
    •Widescreen (16:9) •Thin bezel
    •3 HDMI inputs
    •Preprogrammed remote

    2)Philips 50" Plasma HDTV (50PFP5332D/37)

    •720p (1366 x 768) resolution
    •NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners
    •Widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio •10,000:1 contrast ratio
    •2 HDMI inputs
    •Virtual Dolby® Surround

    3)Samsung 50" Plasma HDTV (HP-T5054)

    •720p (1365 x 768) resolution
    •NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners
    •Widescreen (16:9) •15,000:1 contrast ratio
    •3 HDMI inputs
    •Theater game mode

And there are only Panasonic,HP,LG, Vizio which i really don't care for,Also I am relly not wanting another Samsung, unless the Plasma is another whole ball game and it be the better buy i just did not have luck with a Samsung DLP....

Plasma is much more prone to burn in than LCD, but it can happen with both.... just don't play too long/leave it paused with the TV on and you'll be fine.

You should see if you can get one of the new Samsung DLP's that recently came out. They use LED's for the light source instead of a color wheel... http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=87219

Ok now i am really confused,I am thinking DLP is not good because I have tile, and hardwood floors plus animals, and with the hair, and dust I think that I will have only problems with the DLP, then again Samsung with the LCD lamp DLP maybe the way to go.I am assuming since there is no wheel then there is now fan, and there would be less moving parts too....

plasma gets a bad rap because of what happened when it first came out, you have to literally abuse a tv in order for it go get burn in, temp. image retention is more common but still rare, i'd say stay with DLP however, they're good sets especially for the size with the resolution and features that you get, stay away from samsung's new LED DLP's tho, they dont look too hot. introduced them last year and they're puttin a few in their main line this year.

you say you had it repaired 2 times. What did they have to replace? Color wheels, lite engines? If you smoke do not get a DLP, if I replaced 20 colorwheels, 18 were in smokers homes, 1 had just painted the room the unit was in. So in this would show only one colorwheel was a failure. the fans pull in the smoke or fumes and they tar up the colorwheel. Some techs replace the whole lite engine instead of just colorwheel. What was the tv doing that you called to get it fixed?

The first time the TV was 8 months old the LAmb cracked across the top,a year later the TV screen turned Blue, and then sometimes it will turn Red, the cost was 1000.00 bucks so they are going to let me chooose a new TV.I think I will at least stay away fro DLP, and go with a Plasma.I like the 50" SAmsung Plasma but I am just scared to get it because of the problems with the DLP one I have now....

look into the Mits dlp's. I rarely have to change a light engine in them, Or look into Sony LCD projections.

I do not care for Plasma's in general. They do have a high retention rate of the picture, can easily have burn in. I see it quite often. If you must do Plasma look into Pioneer Elite. I feel they are the better one. Wood floors would be no different than carpet. I have many users that have wood floors with all type tv's. Does not seem to cause any additional problems with DLP's. Then things that DLP's have problems with are power outages when they are on, the fans stop and blow the bulbs. Also Cig and cigar smoke, as I noted before. I prefer DLP's and LCD projection cause I can fix 99% of the problems with them in the home. Many times with Plasma's and Lcd Flat screens they may need to have a panel replaced. If so we take them into the shop to have that done. So if you have a bad pixcel with Plasma or LCD flat, you lose you tv for weeks. With the DLP or LCD projection, you can keep watching the tv unit I come back with the part.

I've been a sales manager for CC for 4 years now. Dont buy anything with the name phillips or magnavox. Wouldn't recommend the hitachi either. Buy either the SAM HPT5054 or PAN TH50PX75U. Panasonic has had one of the best plasmas the last several years. They have the best ratings and I have seen the fewest problems out of them. If you are interested in a 1080p they have a TH50PZ700U coming out in the next month if you can wait. Send me an email if you have any further questions....
