I have and liked it even though I don't like Anime.
Just wondering if this is pretty popular movie or not.

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

all that anime shit is retarded...it's like every movie stems from one original flick and if you haven't seen them all, nothing makes sense.

    Akira is the shiznit.

Other good titles to look for is Ghost in the Shell, Vampire Hunter D (1985), Patlabor (movie), Appleseed, Fist of the Northstar, Metropolis, probably could think of a few others. I don't particularly like series, but Star Blazers and Robotech are a couple that aren't too bad.

Look for stuff from Manga and pre-1999, the re-makes of the classics that I have seen look very cookie-cutter.

I remember when Akira was released in the US, been feeling my age lately

All good movies, but another good one is Initial D. I have 14 DVD's of it and have to buy more DVD's so that my friend can make me copies of the ones I do not have now.

I own both the dubbed and subtitled versions. Great movie. My favorite is Ghost in the Shell though. Yes, I'm an Anime hound.

The GitS movie was awesome, but man, the series itself sucks balls.

I'm an anime nut myself... I'm really running out of good animes to watch.

Oh, and if any of yall want to see a friggen over-the-top anime, watch elfin lied.... it just got dubbed recently, but the voices kinda suck... Its got everything... blood, violence, boobies, more blood, killing, boobies, limb severing, blood, boobies....

ehhhh you see where I'm going with this. Its only like 12-13 episode series... its a good watch.
