dude, it almost killed me leaving that car on the lot. I'm really gonna miss that car but I need something to haul the big ass camper I'm going to buy next. The GTO is hands down the best car I've owned to this point. The whole family took a minute to stand next to it one last time and tell it bye....even the kids.

it was 2 fold for me. I wanted a duramax just because I've never owned one and I want it to pull a big ass camper and you can't argue with the low end torque these trucks make. It's sick how much torque they make.

I want to buy a 5th wheel in a year or two... That's why I always looked at Diesels.

I know this. Not trying to argue, was pointing out how ridiculous resale is on those trucks. I love the torque, just hard to get used to the hydroboost brakes. First couple miles there were some very prompt stops

There is so much aftermarket support for the Duramax diesel. Those Allison trannies can take a real beating.

yep.....I started out looking for an 04 or newer but then saw the power difference and changed it to 06 as a minimum. I'm going to take some time getting used to it and figuring out what I'm doing then comes a tune and some mods.

The Allison is tough but 120hp(90hp pre-06) over stock is the limit before you fry the clutches. I'd have gone with a GMC but any Duramax is a sexy beast.
