In HS I played in the marching band as well as in the stage band (21 piece jazz band).

I played semi pro in various copy and original bands for decades but never made much $$$. Had a blast doing it though. Living in LA I had the opportunity to play most of the clubs on the strip. Even at my age I still practice at home on my kit just to keep my chops up.

I sold my kit back in 01. I had just bought a townhouse and kept my kit in my parents basement. Hadn't played it in a while and wanted headers for my new (in 01) Trans Am. I still practice sticking on practice pads tho. Miss my kit.

its ok. I love Jazz too. Hey back then what was Rock? I think Jazz flies under the radar and too many people pass it up. I don't know why, or maybe it is just where i live. But I think Jazz is due for a big spark. I just don't want to hear any more Kenny G, lol....

I guess it depends if you want a band with a good drummer or a good drummer . One of the best drummers that kinda stays behind the scenes is Herman Rabble from the Scorps .. if you ever want to hear him shine get Tokyo Tapes .. this is back when Uli was still in the band ... great CD ...
