2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
Got a new Daily Driver today
My brother is coming back from Japan on the 19th to start college in the fall, so I'm selling him my Mazda3 that I have been using as a daily driver (keeping the miles and rain off of the Trans Am). He showed intrest, so I took it as a sign that I needed a change of scenery, so I immediately started looking for another car that would be practical in the rain, snow and everyday driving. I started with almost anything for less than $5k and started narrowing it down to a few qualities I really wanted:
- Moderate power...something between the Mazda and Nymphadora.
- American made.
- Sorta sporty looking.
- Front wheel drive.
- Automtic Transmission.
Here is what I settled on (not my pictures...it's too dark out now):
Took these a few minutes ago:
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP
85k Miles
Supercharged 3.8L V6
Automatic Transmission
Stock Bose system
Heads Up Display (kinda cool)
Sunroof
Leather Interior
Heated Driver Seat
Kenwood Head Unit
Aftermarket Shifter
Dual Dash Gauge Pod (Boost and Air/Fuel Guages)
SLP Gen 2 Spoiler
Tinted Taillights
HID Headlights and Fogs
Mille Miglia Spider II 17" Wheels
235/50/17 Yokohama Tires
3" Ohio Autoworks Down Pipe
4" intake w/ Cone Air Filter
180* Thermostat
3.4" pulley
ZZP Exhaust Tips
WBodyStore Upper/Lower grilles
Black Headlights/Corners
99 Camaro 12" Brakes w/ Drilled & Slotted Rotors
KYB AGX Front Struts
SSC Front Springs
ZZP Stainless Steel Brake Lines
BMR Front and Rear STB's
ZZP Poly Motor Mounts
Autovation Racing Pedals
Supercharged Billet Oil Cap
Also came with a Cobra 9330 Radar Detector and a Finedrive 400 GPS, both of which are hard wired in through the radio.
With the smaller diameter pulley and the other mods, it has an estimated hp rating of about 280 and torque of over 300 ft/lbs. The great thing is that it got about 25-26mpg on the trip home from NJ.
I'm already in love with this car. The exhaust is stock, so it is quiet, but the Supercharger has a real nice, loud whine. I'll have to get a video for you guys. I've already laid the smack-down on a Prelude, a Scion Tc, and a mid-90s Mustang GT. On the list of things to do is tinting the windows (probably 25%) and rebadging the exterior (I hate red badging). Probably going to do chrome lettering like on Nymphadora.
Here is where you guys come in...I need ideas for a name for her and a personalized license plate. For the name, be creative. For the license plate, I was looking for something that hints towards my nerd/wow/computer side...ie: Haxzor or something like that.

you're gonna love that car.....we had a 99 and it's probably my favorite out of every daily driver I've ever had. I hated to get rid of that car.
