Got My first speeding ticket, and a breathalyzer

Yup, got me a speeding ticket coming back from my cousins "OMG where having a baby, lets drink beer" party. As I left I layed two 'little' rubber lines with the TA and headed home. Man, it was a nice day. Cruising along on a country road.... passed a cop going the other direction.

Wasnt 1 mile later 2 police cars were right on my ass

Pulled into my favorite party store and got the cool flashing lights. Police officer walked up and saw a 15 pack of Budwieser in the back. Information given, and then I started the drunk test's. I told him I started drinking at 4 o' clock, and it was now 8:30PM and I had 3-4 beers. Passed all four test's, and then got the breathalyzer.

Passed that with a WHOPPING 0.000

Police officer knocked my ticket down from 70/55 to a 60/55. I shook his hand, said thank you sir... and we went on our seperate ways

Just a nice lesson of why its cool to drink 3 beers and drive home. No DUI, just a little speeding ticket. Life is still good

Why not?

1. he dropped the speed down considerably

2. If Im not a asshole to him, its a good chance he wont even show if I do choose to fight it. The worst thing that can happen if I fight it is, he shows up, tells the magistrate he already dropped the speed and I have to pay.

But being polite and not blowing up on the police officer will help me in my quest of just paying a fine and not having any points.

Thats how I look at it.

I know how you feel i got one yesterday to i was going 82 in a 65 passing a car and the deputy was heading the opposite direction. I didnt think he would have got me cuz he was outta site so i gunned and to try and get away but he ended up getting me anyways all i know is he must have been booking it to get me. Ticket was 170 .

Because he's screwing you over for something stupid. Something that obviously wasn't a safety issue, seeing as you were on a back road and blew a 0.00.

Now if he said nice car, slow down, have a nice day - then I would give him props. Some cops are like that, most aren't.

Would have thanked him regardless of ticket or not.

If he wanted to feel froggy he could have taken you in and had a BAC done....

^--agreed.cop could have been a dick if he wanted to,especially after op admitted to 3-4 beers.most cops think 3-4 beers over 4.5 hours=d.u.i.

I got stopped last weekend for having my parking lights and fog lights on without my headlights (I wasn't paying attention to the fact I didn't have my switch turned all the way, and I run my fog lights all the time

) I was polite, and my 3-yr-old who was in the back seat looooves cops for some reason. He flipped out and was talking to the guy. Cop asked if he wanted to see a big dog, he of course said yes. So the cop let me take him back to pet his canine while he wrote me a warning, and we talked about cars a bit. Shook his hand and he shook my son's hand, and all was good.

(PS, it may have helped a little that I went to high school with the cop

)
