    Got lucky...

Driving to work last night I was going along the highway, I kept hearing wind noise which is something I don't usually get in the car. I kept checking the windows to make sure they were up, they were. Doors were closed tightly as well. Everything seemed fine, but I kept hearing it. My drive to work is just under 30 miles and most of it on the highway (~70mph). Finally, it occurred to me that I should feel to make sure the tops were latched. Sure enough, that was the culprit. I guess I got distracted or something when I put my top on earlier in the day and forgot to latch it.

Lucky for me, it didn't blow off. That could certainly have made for a bad night.

    Just thought I'd share.

That is fortunate. We've had them blow off even when they were latched.

Hehe Unfortunatly I've done this very thing, only didn't notice till I was on the highway doing 80.

Reached up to grab the latch and it flew right off, saw it bounce on the road behind me a few time (thankfully I was going fast enough so that no-body was right behind) Did about 120 to hit the next exit and go all the way around (thought it was still in the road). Found it on the left shoulder in one piece amazingly. A few scratches and the molding was trashed but all in all not to bad, left it on till I traded my old bird in.

Might want to go check ls1tech for the way to fix the latch anyway if you have not. Alot of time they end up flying off (facotyr flaw) one guy wrote a thread showing step by step how to fix it.
