    Good Morning Texts

So, I wake up to a couple of picture messages a buddy of mine sent me around 1:30 this morning while I was asleep.

No word from him since. Tried calling several times but no answer.

This is, well was, his car. 2002 Camaro. Pics were sent from his phone.

Yeah, looks like the ass smacked a wall and whipped the front into the same wall, all without mangling the door. Weird.

Im thinking the rear end slid out and hit the wall first...that then sent the front end slamming into the wall...at least thats what it looks like...hope he turns out ok.

I have no idea what happened.

It's just a 5 speed V6 and I know for a fact he wasn't being stupid or showing off. Obviously because its a V6(not that their aren't quick V6's running around all over, so no disrespect to the V6 owners), but he's not the kind of guy to do that kind of stuff.

He doesn't drink at all. I've been friends with him over ten years and I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen him drink. And even then, it was only a beer or two.

He rarely drives it, its only got 65,xxx miles on it, and when he does its usually just a few miles at a time when he does.

I've tried calling his sister as well as other friends of ours but no one has heard from him.

    Hoping he's alright.

if he was on the interstate or a highway it could have been anything...blow out, swerved to miss something "animal or object", oil on the road, etc etc...lots of wild cards out there that people usually dont think about until they get into a wreck.

Turns out he had a blowout at 80 on the turnpike. Drivers side rear. Slammed him into the median divider, spun him around facing oncoming traffic, got hit head on by a couple cars, spinning him around several times before coming to a complete stop.

Car is totalled. Ended up getting $600 worth of stupid bullshit tickets. One was not having a copy of his title(don't know why he got a ticket for not having that, I don't keep my title in my car), a few others he told me but can't remember.

Oh, I've never heard of this, he got a $200 ticket for having "dangerous unsafe tires", I guess his tires were bad and didn't have much tread left, but, seriously, I've never heard of a ticket for such a thing.

Aside from whiplash, and a pinched nerve in his neck, he's fine.

He said the cop that was the first to arrive on the scene assumed he had been drinking and gave him a breathalyzer test, which he passed with flying colors, as he wasn't drinking at all.

Instead if making sure, asking if he was alright, he(the cop) threw him in the back of the squad car and proceeded with a sobriety test.

He's looking at getting a newer WRX STI to replace his Camaro.

That'll be fun, if he actually gets one. Wouldn't trade my TA for one but I've driven a '11 model and they are fun.

Obviously they don't look as good as a TA, in my opinion, but I'm sure they can be fun cars. Turbos are fun. Lol.

Glad he's okay. Here where I live they actually tell you to not keep the title in your car, that is a law I have never heard of.

Might be worth checking with a traffic lawyer, some of those tickets sound like BS. No LEO I've ever known or talked with has ever said keeping the title of the car in the vehicle is a good idea or required. Registration yes, but never the title.

He did say copy of the title. In WI now as of late last year we no longer get our title unless the car is paid off. If you have a loan on it the bank keeps the title and you just get a title form. Although they do not tell you to keep it in the car. Sounds like it could be yet another cop who does not understand the laws they are enforcing.

It had to of been a registration ticket. Keeping the title in your car is like carrying your social security card in your wallet..not too bright.

Yup - I agree. Nobody keeps their title in their car. Hell, most people keep it in a lock box or safe lol.
