    good deal for a vette???

i'm thinking about getting a a 1997 vette Red (will look good parked next to my red t/a) its $16,999 w/ 71,800 miles on it, its at a local dealership I guess my first question is being that its the first year for the LS1 is it still a pretty fast car or is there a big difference between a 97 and a 98-02???? just curious what you guys think, dont wanna make a mistake BTW by the pics i had seen and from what the dealer said when I talked to him on the phone its a pretty mint car (condition wise) any feedback would be great THANKS! - Jason

that's a lot of mileage for the money IMO. You could get a newer and extremely low low mileage f-body for that money. The 97 vettes had an LS1.

yeah, its a kind of a "spur of the moment" thing I was actually originally planning on buying a second f-body "SS camaro" or another bird if the right one came about I just happened to stumble apon the vette while searching for another f-body...

Thats a lot of money for the mileage on the first year of that car. It will have all the first year bugs too. I would pass unless the price drops and the car is extremely clean. With the economy and the fact that the c5 went from 97-04, theres no reason to pay the kind of money for that car. Theres probably much newer model year c5's that are that price.
