Gonna be a best man

It's my first time for this.

Can someone give me a little guidance on what should be expected of me? I've got to put together some kinda party for the groom to be in a couple of weeks.

Anyone else got any been there done that stories or advice to offer?

I've got this coming up myself middle of this year. Some responsibilities of yours: Plan and set up the bachelor party. Do yourself a favor, and dont have it the night before the wedding, for your buddy's sake. You dont want him hungover the day of his wedding. Also, traditionally, the best man makes a speech at the reception, as would the maid of honor.

makes sense. The party is like 2 weeks before so I'm good there. The bastards got me drunk off my ass the night before I got married. I was so drunk that I was still just coming around when the ceremony started.... at 3 in the afternoon.

That's about it. Get the guys to throw in some ideas and cash, and get the groom wasted off his ass.

Just make sure you look out for him and everything will be cool. I've had some great memories from the ones I have attended and the one thrown for me.

There have never been any cameras at any of the bachelor parties I have been too.
