    GM's 6.2 truck package

these things are pretty wicked. this guy ran a 13.9 with his 4 door truck with minor bolt ons and a crappy 60'. that's out of a heavy duty truck with a 7300 gvw and a 14 bolt rear. the engine, rear diff, gvw and massively better brake package make the upgrade over the 5.3 really worth it. i love mine!
they'll run mid 14's easy with nothing but a tune.

Damn that's pretty impressive. My buddy's dad just got one of those motors pretty cheap cause it had a bad piston and head but he's got it fixed now just has to decide what to put it in. Maybe I need to talk him in to selling it to me haha

417 pounds of torque and 403 hp in a half ton pickup... They do scream.

I have been seriously contemplating trading in my SS Silverado for one.

i love the look of the silverado SS, but performance wise it's not even close!

Pretty much the only reason I haven't traded it in yet is because the styling on my SS is A LOT better than the GMT900's. And mine is fully loaded where as the Max package is just drivetrain, no trim level upgrades. So I'd be trading in a low miled 2004 fully loaded with leather, heated seats, 6 disc, steering wheel controls etc, for a moderately loaded cloth interior truck with a fantastic drive line. Plus then I'd add a car payment which I have none right now...

This is the way all new vehicles are heading. Most of the mid size family sedans with the v6 engines run low to mid 14s. Nice trucks for sure

You mean you got the SLT with the Max package. Max doesn't give you a trim upgrade, but you have to be atleast at the mid trim level to get the Max package.

lol it's confusing... try selling the bastards. And I don't think you can get the Z71 package in the GMC with the 6.2. You can in the Chevy.

The SS package back in 03/04 was a trim level upgrade. You'll never see a cloth SS.

    word-- i get it.

the max package is a drivetrain upgrade. is it the heaviest duty 1\2 ton on the market? i know the powertrain is pretty hard corn. the rear diff ring gear is like 2" bigger than a nissan titan--- that's huge!
