GM Stock
So GM’s stock closed at under $11 per share today.
I am seriously considering buying a thousand dollars in stock since it is so low and certainly will go up. Products like the volt, etc. will turn them around.
Do you think this is a good move or an investment that will come back to bite me in the ass?

Stock is always a good thing if you plan on holding on to it for a loooong time.

SEC rules say that accounting firms that provide attest services be independent. This is because auditors provide an opinion as the condition of the company and may have an incentive to be less than honest if they have a financial interest. To avoid even the appearance of an independence concern my firm has even more strict rules.
I know my firm does some work for GM but I do not know to what extent so I need to check to see if there are any restrictions on me personally and if so how much, if any, GM stock I am allowed to own.

I've thought of buying some too. I'm gonna wait for a quarter or two more to see if they can turn around the cash-flow problem. I don't mind grabbing it at $20/share on the way up if it gives me the reassurance I didn't buy it at $10/share right before the filed bankruptcy...
