GM to sell Hummer to Chinese company
GM has an agreement to sell its Hummer brand to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. of China, said a person briefed on the deal. Sichuan Tengzhong deals in road construction, plastics, resins and other industrial products, but Hummer would be its first step into the automotive business.
This is part of the news brief on yahoo... I know this isnt LSX related, but I thought i'd share this... I think that hummer being sold to the chinese is a direct representation of america place in the world. Hummer, biggest automotive symbol of america's strength, being sold to the chinese. Such is the same with basically everything else in america, from building materials, to clothes, toys, food. There's almost nothing left that's home grown. I think we're becoming more dependant on other nations, and are less able to stand on our own feet as a country. IMO

lol you're right, but i guess in my defense, I could say that it has to do with us because it's GM. Anyway, I'm glad to see them go, I meant it more as a general topic. I guess I put it in the wrong forum area.

They've been so dependant on us, riding our coattails when they have needed money or military support in the past, and selling goods to us, that now that our own economy is so fucked they get to get some of our companies. Shit its not like asian countries dont pirate enough american technology as it is.
However, the civilian version hummers were as worthless as the yuppies and hoodrats driving them. Good riddance I could really care less. I rather have camaros and corvettes eating up the EPA MPG allowance. The Hummer was created to be one of the premier forms of mobile transportation for our military, not to traverse the ghetto and take kids to soccer
