GM Nationals at Carlisle: June 21 - 23

GM Nationals at Carlisle June 21st to 23rd.

It is once again that time of year to begin our plans for the GM Carlisle Show, held at the fairgrounds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. We'll need to discuss what we want to do both at the show and in the evenings. We had some good eats and terrible music last year, plus a local go-cart track to play at. In past years, on the fairgrounds we have had a tent, tables and chairs, a sign in sheet, video presentation of members' cars, a raffle, LS1.com goodies for the members - including shirts, coffee mugs and decals (guaranteed to add 5 h.p.), cold drinks, LS1 literature, and display boards taken from our website. I think we had around 20 members make an appearance at our booth last year and close to 30 in 2011.

Members that will be exhibiting their cars on the showfield should pre-register and please select LS1.com as your group.

Last year, we stayed at the Best Western on Harrisburg Pike, but I understand that this may already be booked up. Some members are searching now for other accommodations and will post what they find here. I will be charging $10 per person for any rides back to the hotel requested after 1:00 a.m.! If you do call, please be able to tell me where to pick you up at... had some confusion last year.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there again this year!

I am up in the air on what to bring. This year, they are celebrating the Turbo Buicks at Carlisle and we just picked one up a few weeks ago. I have to be able to pack all our stuff for the tent, and not sure if the T/A can handle it. Also, it's nice having the Suburban there as I can easily cart around 7 others for when we start the after show festivities.

Forgot to mention that we damn near had a tragedy. Our family vacation was pushed back as my nephew is graduating this year. They inadvertently scheduled our trip to OBX to end on the weekend of the show. Thanks to the coolest wife ever, I have been excused from vacation duty and will be in attendance at Carlisle.

I will most likely be bringing my truck/trailer an the Trans Am. I don't feel like showing my car (don't like it being too far out of my sight and unattended), but I would love to park it next to the LS1.com tent if that is allowed...Jeff?

I will most likely be bringing my truck/trailer an the Trans Am. I don't feel like showing my car (don't like it being too far out of my sight and unattended), but I would love to park it next to the LS1.com tent if that is allowed...Jeff?

You'll need to register for the show to bring the car into the fairgrounds. The same for your truck and trailer, if you want to park them on the fairgrounds. You can park the car under the tent. I did last year. Next to the tent is iffy, as we're usually not in the 4th gen area, and space is tight.

The car under the tent is up to Jeff, though. He was nice enough to let me leave mine there. I'll throw my vote in to let you though. It'd be nice if all the members could park by the tent.......

I won't be able to make it for Friday night festivities since we have a wedding that night, but will be there early Saturday morning. Still up in the air whether I am staying Saturday night or just heading home.

As posted, you can sticker your truck and trailer and park them at the top of the hill. That's what I did in 2011. If you are entering your car in a class to have it judged, then it needs to be parked in the appropriate area on the fairgrounds. Otherwise, parking by us isn't a problem.

It's confirmed, I will be leaving work at 12:00 on Friday the 21st. Not sure of i will be alone or with the GF.
