...damn GM engineers decided to put the oil drain plug at a perfect 90 degrees shooting towards the right front tire....so when you pull the drain plug it shoots out all over the tire and then creeps back toward the middle.....fucking mess......so I installed a Fumoto Valve...end of problem.....

Yeah....many use them...has a lock so it doesnt "pop" open.....cheap....easy....no more stripped threads.....drain plug gaskets etc. just pop the valve open and it drains into the bucket....

Hell if they are so pissed they are going to take the time to crawl under my truck it really doesn't matter if I have a valve or a drain plug.

is your truck lifted? or lowered? that will greatly increase or reduce time taken to crawl under it

Good call, Sarge! I stripped a bolt when I did my first oil change and was cussin' like a sailor. A guy at the auto part store told me about this valve but he didn't have any in stock and could not remember who made it, etc. As fate would have it I logged onto LS1.com today and gained some valuable information. Happens alot actually...

How the mother f'in hard do you have to tighten a drain plug to strip it? I hear of people doing it all the time but I've never come close. Just a smidgen past finger tight is all you need

This happens to me alot at work on Cat machines. I just hold the plug half in/half out and let it drain for about a minute. By then... it will not shoot all over everything. Caterpillar Engineers are the Most dumb of them all. Hands down.

They show that you have to buy an adaptor for the gto - 5.7 and 6.0 but I wonder why for the easiest car in the world to do an oil change on.
Now, if only they made an oil filter adaptor for my wife's 95 Linc. Mark VIII 4.6 freakin modular motor in a large car but the filter is tucked up high with all kinds of suspension caging it up. Frickin frackin Ford engineers.
