Glasspack sound?
So I finally got them put on today and was happy with the ground clearence
but not happy with the sound. It was way too quiet.
I then heard that glasspacks become louder as the more you use them so in a few weeks they will sound nice?
Anyone clearify that or will it always be this quiet.
I really dont want to put my flowmasters back on, they sounded great but scraped

I put glasspacks on my Chevelle. I left them on for about 6 months and then, put the turbos back on...
I didn't like the sound either.

Put up some soundclips. Then we can hear again in a few weeks. I know nothing of glasspacks, but i'm interested in hearing how they sound.

here's what you do.....call them "bullet mufflers" because there are literally thousands of people running bullets dumped and no one really knows that they are actually just running glass packs.
The will get louder. Give 'em time.

I remember my dad telling me a story about when he put Glasspacks on his GTO. He said that were called Orange Peelers. The short story is he had them on for only two days when he was coasting into town (55MPH to a 45MPH) when he ran into the fuzz and he had to take them off. Yeah his coast was more like down shift to 3rd and let her rap so all his buddys could hear him on the other side of town.

You might as well go with bullets dumped at the axel. Loud yes but I have turbo thrush mufflers also. They quite it down and sounds some what like a 71 camaro. IMO a SBC 350 does not sound like a LS1 346.

Yea they are dumped right before the axel

Just pour some oil (new or used) right into the mufflers and run it for a day. I did it on my Chevelle and my Corvette. It burns the fiberglass out quicker.
