    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

Angry Gift for mom and dad

my parents are impossible to buy for. First: they don't tell any of us that they want anythign. which i'm sure is true b/c they buy whatever they want...which is the second issue...what do you get for the people who can get whatever they want or allready have it!? My dad has alll the power tools and hand tools in the world and my mom is overwhelmed with jewelery boxes.

anyway...if anyone has a cool idea for their own parents, lemmie know. Oh yeah, they are about 65 ish

    That is an understatement.

Parents are the worst to buy for as they have had all the toys for decades already,

I am going to buy a gift certificate for a decent restaurant for my parents. They never go out and if you make it a fairly large amount of money they will have to go out and spend it.

For once I'm going to have to agree with BBQ Head ... sorry .. SexOnWheels.
Parents gifts are a way tough call.
They really don't have a problem telling you that your gift is numbskull unlike other family members who at least fake like they like it ...

I'll sleep on it and come up something brilliant .., as always ...

I would just find a local fine dinning resturunt and give them a big gift card or maybe send them somewhere like a bed and breakfast deal.

If your Mom or Dad have hobbies, sometimes magazine subscriptions for their interests. My father in law is 64, he likes sailing, so we subscribe him to sailing magazines...

Just because your Dad has tools... He could have three drills but maybe he could use some decent drill bits? Maybe setting up a spring tuneup for their lawnmower at someplace that will pick it up, tune it up, sharpen it, and return it?

If your Mom has any groups she participates in like a needlework group or cross stich, there are specialty stores where a gift certificate can go a long way.

Perhaps getting one of their favorite photographs framed up for them at a professional framing place?

Grab their old photo album and take it to Staples and have them scan in the pictures on CD/DVD for them?
