    Getting very frustrated... (rant inside)

So...9 weeks ago we had our daughter Sara.

I can't remember seeing this at the hospital when she was born, but I was emotionally drained for those 3 days. I was just happy she was here and apparently healthy.
2 weeks later we noticed her right foot was a little bigger than her left. Being that it is her right foot...I was hoping she just took after me and had a lead foot.
We talked to her pediatrician about it. Informed to wait it out and let her know if it got worse.
Fast forward to Sara being 4-5 weeks old. Foot had gotten a little bigger and was quite noticeable at this point. Called the pediatrician and set up an appointment. Went...got a referral to a specialist at the Denver Children's Hospital.
Okay...this is where I start getting a little pissed.

First off...Sara's doctor is a women who practices with her husband. Both are pediatricians. Well...I sure felt like we were pushed into the specialist visit without her checking the foot out much. I can kinda see that, but I still think she could have done more. But I guess they just don't do much these days other than check-ups.
So...Sara sees the orthopedic specialist. They x-ray'd her feet. Bone structure is the same on both feet...including size. Then the specialist procedes to tell us about 15 things it MIGHT be. Worse being cancer, best being something she will grow out of.

Fast forward to the last week or so. Sara's puffy foot is now her puffy leg. She had a well-baby visit next week anyways, so we took her in early. Saw the husband of her regular pediatrician. Had to force something being done. We now have an appointment with a geneticist. Lovely...they are thinking syndromes. Again...varying degrees of severity. That appointment....AUGUST FUCKING 10th.
Got it pushed up to April 25th...which is still to damn long, but nothing we could do. That got pushed up when the pediatrician requested a quicker visit.
So...we schedule her 4 month well baby visit. They tell us that Sara will have to see the doctors assistant. Am I wrong in thinking that they should be able to schedule in a visit with the ACTUAL pediatrician two months out???

Anyways...I have an appointment to see my doctor Satuday morning. Going to take Sara with me and see if he has any ideas. Sara is also going to see another family doctor next week. Someone has got to figure this one out.

The foot is the same skin tone/color as the other one.
It doesn't hurt her in any way.
    She moves it.
    Here it is...

Any ideas or recommendations on how to handle the doctors?
On the off chance....has anyone seen something like this or had family that maybe has?
Do you think I am wrong to consider a new pediatrician?

All we want to know is what it is. If she is going to be disabled or something...so be it. We can get ready for what comes next. If not...great. Either way, my patience is VERY thin.

I would do exactly what you are doing, talk to and get the attention of every doctor you possibly can. This needs to be diagnosed and hopefully resolved.

Best of wishes to your daughter and you, Mr. Luos. I hope that things turn out well. Please keep us posted.

i hope everything turns out ok. get second and third opinions if you have to. my daughter is almost 9 now but when she started school, they and doctors tried to say she had a slight form of autism(sp?) scared me to death. she is ok now, she just don't socialize much if she dont want to. not knowing what to do for your child is very painfull and scary thing. i so hope yours turns out ok.

    Considered that.

But at this point...it isn't getting worse.
I am sure if the 3-4 doctors she has seen thought is was an emergency...we would have already been to the ER.

well, you're doing right by getting those appointments pushed up if you can. April 25th is not TOO far out there considering the nature of what it appears to be. I'm not sure how "club foot" and all that begins, but maybe a visit to a pediatrist (foot doctor guy) might be in order. There may be something that they can do now to "nip things in the bud". In either case, I know it can be very frustrating to not be able to get answers right away, but the long and short of it is that it's probably not life threatening or an emergency and it's probably not going to drastically change in the next couple of weeks before the appointment. You're doing everything a great dad would do. There's no need to over react yet.

I'm sure your daughter will be fine though.

It sure seems that your medical system can be frightenly slow with this run around.

The way you have been treated by some of these physicians is atrocious!

Just continue to be the squeaky wheel as much as you can until this is diagnosed.

I really hope it is just something small like Spaz suggested and is a reaction or something similar.

    Keep us updated bro!

    Damn man!! That does suck.
Since I have no kids, I cannot offer any advice, except this -

When I was born, the doctor told my Mother I was a Mongloid Child. I would be fucked up my entire life, I would never walk and most likely die very young, i.e. before 10!

Well, I may be a lot of things, but I am alive and doing damn well.
So, there are lots of things that pop up on babies, and may be nothing at all.

Sara will be a fighter like her Mom and Dad, so she will be fine.
(We just hope she look a lot more like mom!!!)

The first thing I would do is call a hospital in another city. Do a little research and find the best damn childrens hospital that you're willing to drive to then call them and take her there. It doesn't sound to me like anyone you've dealt with so far is taking this very serious and that's how bad things end up happening.
There are a few times in life when you have to be a prick and it's justified. This is one of those times. Don't play around with them demand someone take care of your daughter. I'm gonna show this to my wife and see if she has any ideas on what you can/should do.
I'm terribly sorry to hear you're going through this. I have kids of my own and my daughter is 9 months old. I can only imagine what you guys are going through. My thoughts will be with you guys and keep us posted on everything.
