    Getting there....

Started out wanting the best of breed in each caliber of pistol. Not the most expensive. My criteria was reliability/dependability mainly.
So far here is what I have in the "pistol arsenal"...
.45-Glock Model 36 with 1 round extension and WOLFF 10% mag spring
    .40- IDF Jericho (Israeli)
    .38-Taurus Model 856 ( Revolver)
    9MM S&W SW9VE
    .32 Kel Tec Auto
.22 Remington Magnum 6 Shot Revolver

I have shot the shit out of these things in the past few weeks. Over 500 rounds
each. Hands down the Jericho is the bulls balls. That thing is one sweet fricking pistol. Anybody on here have any of the listed pistols?

Jericho 9-41 ?, I didn't think they made them anylonger.

    for a .45, Wilson combat.
    For a 9mm, Sig 228 or 226
    .38 revolver, I like the Ruger GP100
    .40 who gives a shit, but Sig229
For the mini shit, they all kind of suck
    .380 Walther PPKS

I have a Glock 17, and use it as a fishing gun. I don't care if it gest wet. Trigger pull on it sucks. Brass shoots out in all directions, sometimes down your shirt, bounces off the safety glasses. Just not a high quality gun in my opinion. I like it for what it is though. Given a choice, I would take a Sig or HK P7 over it anyday. Hell even a Beretta 92 or Browning HP.

Sarge, you enjoy shooting quite a bit huh? Have you ever thought of getting a black powder revolver? They're cheap to buy, cheap to shoot, and fun as hell. My buddy has one he brings down to camp every year and we'll spend hours shooting empty beer cans with that thing. It never gets old. I think he paid $100 for the kit.

I bought the Jericho off a A10 pilot down here in San Antonio. Excellent like new condition.....all the others were brand new....The S&W 9MM has a sorta strong trigger pull...but most DA guns do I guess....

Yes they are fun but get old quick. Come home covered in powder and lead. Fucking gun takes an hour to clean. Course you Yankees probably just put yours in the dishwasher.

bathtub...that's howI clean my 50 cal too. Just wash it out with hot soapy water, dry it, and hit it with bore butter. They are a bitch to clean but don't take too long once you get a system. I used to sit at the bar upstairs and clean it with bore cleaner and patches but my wife started bitching because it would stink the room up while she was watching tv. That stuff does have a twang to it.

I'm now wondering if I broke it all the way down if the barrel would fit in the dishwasher. Good idea Sarge.

I'd imagine it probably would, at an angle on the bottom, or even the top rack. I'd say it'd be a good idea to get it out and dried off asap after its done running so that it doesn't rust.

I've broke down my AK47's and put them in the dishwasher after a hog hunt more than once.

I see me getting a pistol at some point. I want one I can hunt deer with too though. A gun is useless to me unless I can hunt with it. My buddy bought a .45 colt last fall and plans to hunt with that at some point....he needs to get better at shooting it first. I've probably only shot a pistol 20 times in my entire life not counting the little .22 snub nose I have and I outshot his ass hands down.

No. Most people I have met (at the range mainly) bitching about Taurus have never owned one nor ever shot one. So I gave em a try and glad I did. Excellent quality/balance....great shooter. I shoot +P Wadcutters in the .38.

Nice collection. I've been told the Tanfoglio is the same gun as the IDF. Which makes sense as I can get parts from them for the Baby Eagle (Jericho) .40.
I shot a S&W .45 1911. What a nice gun. I didnt like the Beretta 9MM. But up close it will get the job done I guess.
