gettin into archery, just bought my first bow

well, today, I ordered a Diamond Rock bow off a really awesome website.

    http://www.huntersfriend.com/

I got the full combo setup, but told them to remove the release, broadheads, quiver, and stabilizer. I plan n gettin a nice truball release, and trickin it out with Octane add on's.

it should be here is 7-10 buisness days, and will take some pics when I get it. I am really excited. I shot it at the bow shop, and its real smooth, quiet, and accurate too. guys kept on sayin "get a hoyt, or get a mathews" man, forget that, I heard this Rock bow shoots about as good as a Hoyt Vectrix, so I cant wait to get it dialed in.

Be careful when you release. That cord STINGS when it comes in contact with your arm. I did that in my high school archery class.

Cammed Goat is right watch that arm when you release, The Element is a good bow. Join a couple archery sites, listen to people with more experience, and just stick with it and you'll be a good shot in no time.

I just bought my Tru ball leather buckle release today. its adjustable, which is good becaus eI have REALLY long fingers. also, I am gonna be shootin carbon arrows. the combo is coming with 6, but I am gonna get 6 more gold tip arrows, and havent decided which broadheads yet. I have a long time to get that figured out.

oh, yeah, I got a arm guard already too...

arm guards are for pussy's. Here's a tip.....don't let the string hit your arm. Problem solved.
I like that site you linked to. I sent my buddy there.....he's looking for a starter set up and they have some pretty decent deals there. The biggest advantage for him is it comes set up and ready to shoot so he won't have to figure out how to tune it.
I've been bowhunting for 20 years or so. Are you planning on hunting with it or target shooting? Your first post made me think you were target shooting but then you said you were looking at broadheads. Look no further than muzzy's. Best broadhead out there.

I plan on wearing the armguard only if I have a jacket or a long sleeve shirt on, that might get in the way, and that could mess up my shot.

every bow I have fired, I havent used a armguard and havent hit myself yet so.....I dont plan on always using one

Good luck with the new bow, my little brother bought a mathews DXT last fall and shoots the shit out of it. I have shot it a few times it's pretty sweet. I'd like to get into it but I just have never had the time.

Awesome man. Good luck with it. I used to bow hunt with my father when I was younger. I haven't shot a bow in ages now though. I just hunt with a gun. I plan on getting back into it though. It was a hell of a good time going to archery shoots.
