Garage Floor Coatings/Epoxy Reccomendations
I am looking into coating my garage floor in my new house and was wondering what the best bang for your buck floor coating/epoxy would be? I will be using the garage for veh. storage and builds along with side automotive jobs.
Any input would be appreciated
Garage is near "virgin" floor. 3 car garage

I will ask my dad what he used on his garage floor. Turned out awesome and still looks new years later...and we've used the floor quite a bit over the years.

I'm also interested in this too. I need something that will help cut down on slipping. If floor or my shoes are wet I can fall easier then normal ppl so something that aids in traction would help.
Something like this is what I would love to do to my garage if I could afford it.
Vented Grid-Loc Tiles - Garage Floor Tiles
Since I've been working in the garage more over the last couple of weeks I realize I need to do a few projects. I've been using some old cabinets the previous owner left in the garage and some Gorilla shelves to hold all the odd stuff. But now they aren't cutting it. I think I'm going to build a work bench with storage shelves. Last summer I built a storage loft over the garage door. That's been filled up with all the Christmas & Halloween boxes.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 02-06-2013 at 07:13 AM.

Here's a good place to do your homework. Read the forum, a lot of people have done garage floors before.

There is only ONE coating I would use U-Coat It. I have it on my floor and it is freaken unreal
I have built a quad trailer from scratch, welding, grinding, and no damage I have done a lot of welding in there. I have spilled brake fluid only slight discolored a bit where it sat over night. It carries a life time warranty. Super easy to clean, awesome to lay down on a clean floor to work on the car. Good friend has it same results. I have had mine down for almost 10yrs and still looks good worn a bit where the cars come in and out in the winter(anti skid from roads) they sell a recoat kit thinking about it soon.
One think I would not do is put down the anti skid they give you in the kit did it to mine inside my door way it just hold dirt and is hard to clean that area. I think now they offer the flakes with a clear coat, I just have the regular gray and love it. Also if your wondering no I don't work for them I just like it that much99 Trans Am, SLP Lid, Blackwing filter, smooth bellow, Ported TB, LS6 intake, Ws6 lower ram air box, OBX LT's, Magna Flow cat back, LS7 clutch, Tick MC, Hurst Shifter, Frost Tune, UMI SFC,LAC, STB, PB, Torq Arm, Super Hawk hood, Torq Thrust II, Kee Audio.
Strange S60 4:10's, D&S Rotors, S/S Brake Lines.

We actually used Rust-Oleum Rocksolid and then used two coats of the clear from Epoxy Shield/Rocksolid; it turned out awesome- we used the small flakes as well.
I just did the one part in my back sunroom and then used a concrete "wet-look" sealer over the top(x3 coats) and it turned out pretty damn good as well..
Will upload some picture when I get time this evening.
90% of the outcome is in the prep. Spend the extra time and you wont have any hot-tire pickup or any adverse reactions.
Prior to doing the epoxy we filled all the large cracks as much as we could with liquid cement..
May be a bit too much but it turned out to be a great DIY versus paying 2500+
