G8 Info
Hello all! I have been a member of the board for quite a few years now and recently lost my TA in my devorce. I have also had another kid so I am looking for a new toy that can also fit the family, lol. From what I'v read the G8 seems to be a great car but I haven't gotten a chance to drive one yet. Can anyone give me some opinions about the car or known problems. Any help would be appreciated!

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
IT'S RAD AS T-TOPS!!!! I drove 2 of them and have been a sponsor to a few G8 forums. they are very powerful, come in multiple trim/performance variations and handle like a BMW. They have tons of space and are very 'techy' with bluetooth and DVD touch screen. Many owners in the "snow regions" have had no issues with top-brand snow tires on them.
This WILL be my next car once i can afford it. I found a used metallic orange GT in the 19k range. Call them and ask for Chalice, tell her "jaison" sent you =)

Awesome. Alot of times its hard to get unbiased info from magazine articles. I'm hoping to get into one in early spring, they are sharp looking cars thats for sure. I really need to go and drive one, but I know if I do I'll want to come home in it.

Not a problem man. To be honest I just updated my profile, I was living in Iowa and just moved to TX a few months ago. Since I lost the TA I haven't been on the boards much.

I have driven a Goat, great car, but I'm ultimately looking for a sedan with some Wow factor. Need room for the family and 4 doors for the car seats, lol. And I know you can fit car seats in fbodys and goats, I did it with my fbody, its just a pain in the ass especially when you car get a sedan that performs like the G8.
Can anyone fill me in on any known problems ie, piston slap in the LS1, for the G8?

Believe me it crossed my mind on more then one occasion. The funny thing was shortly after she took it it started having problems with the anti theft and it wouldn't even start. Thanks to this board I found a 75 cent fix with a resister that ended up costing her over 400 to fix. Dumb bitch, lol. ITs ok, hopefully if things work out I'll have a G8 this year for a dd and a Vette next year for the weekends!

The best Australian site on the Commodore is here!

There are many G8 owners who frequent this site.

Test drove an 08 a few months ago. Plenty of power and handled great. The only issues i had with it were the oversized radio display... looks like it should have a navigation system with a screen that big.
It is on my list for next car to get... keep holding out to see if it will get a nav system option, also want to see what pricing will be like on the GXP version.

^^IIRC, the Australian version has nav. Most of the Aussie goodies stay down undah. Unless you contact JHP's website. THEN you can order the goodies you can't get over here.
