That was good. I didnt quite understand if he meant ASE certs are good though. My opionion on ASE isnt to high. About like getting a drivers license. Memorize a study guide and you can pass the test, dont mean you can troubleshoot or fix shit.

Yup...ASE to me means about as much as a MSCE from Microsoft.....but I think his point is ASE is better than a Jiffy Lube certification.....and he is correct IMHO. Fram still got exposed as a cheap POS paper crap box.
I'm bought 30 acres just south of Johnson City.....bout 20 minutes from you....we'll have to get together and fry some catfish

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Decent filter.
Too expensive though.
I stick with Delco.
Heard of a couple of guys complaining about WIX filters falling apart as well. Now...I am sure this one of those times you never hear the good stories and just the 3-4 TOTAL bad ones....seeing as I have never heard bad (aside from those coupe stories) about WIX.

I'd run Delcos but I like using the PF52 filter for the extra capacity. The Delcos don't clear on my GTP. Damn mount prolly collapsed d'oh

I know its supposed to be a PF47. With the 52 it takes 5 quarts instead of 4.5. I hate having a half quart laying around since I usually forget about it when it comes time to change my oil

Fram is to oil filter as leaves are to toilet paper. lol
I thought of you guys the other day. My gf said her oil needed to be changed and her mom was going to take it by walmart.
Instantly went to the zone and got some PP and a k&N.
Here is where it gets frightning... her mom said that she had about another 2k miles to go before a change because she doesnt change her oil until it gets around 5k or more on the oil.

Well said Sarge. If a tech went through the trouble to get ASE's its because he wants higher pay, and it doesnt guarantee hes a great tech but he knows way more then those jiffy lube people do. Jiffy Lubes have their own "certification" and its a joke. Its to make up for the fact that the people that work there no nothing, shouldnt be touching someones car, and there being real no reason to take their car there. So they put this plaque on the wall that says Joe Shmoe took a 20 question open book test while he was takin a shit on a tuesday afternoon. I'd rather have an overdue oil change then ever let them touch any of our cars.
