Forward Mfg. 2-post lift

I'm looking for a 2-post lift to use in my garage (13' ceilings, 6" concrete floor) with mostly cars and maybe the occasional 1/2 ton pickup truck. Does anyone know about Forward Mfg. lifts? I have my eye on their DL7A 7,000lb lift for $1200 used. I know Rotary makes good professional hardware, but I'm having trouble finding a lightly used one within range.

I own a shop equipment sales business. Since 1993 I have been selling Forward lifts. They are excellent, high quality lifts. The dp7 you are looking at is a discontinued model, as they are now called the dp10, for 10000# capacity as the dp7 is 7000# capacity. The lift looks the same though. A little history, the Forward lift is american made, and the company is now owned by Rotary Lifts. Any more questions just shout.

Any problems with the DP7 I should look for when I examine the lift this weekend?

Can I still get parts for the discontinued model?

How thick of a concrete pad do you recommend for bolting the columns to?

Look at the inside of the carriages and make sure all the teflon slide blocks are still there, and that there mating surface is smooth. Look at the cables for any frays. Parts are readilly availible still, if you need something just give me a call. From the pictures it looked pretty good, but just check everything else I said out and you should be fine. At least you are smarrt enough to buy American Made! Most people just look at saving a few dollars, and buy an import. Also, a 4" slab is necessary.
